For communities

A better answer than “ask maintenance”

Residents increasingly rely on technology to stay connected, informed and independent. Everyday problems can quickly become frustrating, and those questions often land on staff who were never hired to be technology support.

The Resident Technology Concierge gives residents a trusted, scheduled resource for everyday technology while reducing the stream of tech questions that land on front-desk, activities, maintenance, and administrative staff.

How it works

  1. Residents reserve 20-30 minute appointments.
  2. PADev comes on-site at a scheduled recurring time.
  3. The community pays one predictable program fee.

Residents bring their device or question to the designated meeting area. The community chooses the recurring schedule. There is no sales pressure on residents, and larger in-apartment work is handled separately.

Why communities use it

  • Adds a visible resident amenity
  • Frees staff from informal tech support
  • Helps residents stay connected to family
  • Builds confidence with everyday technology
  • Provides a trusted place to ask about scams
  • Supports independence without adding headcount
  • Creates recurring education opportunities

A useful side benefit

Your activities team gets a steady source of relevant class topics: scams, smartphones, streaming, passwords, photos, video calls and safe use of AI.

Optional additions

Short resident classes, scam-awareness talks, scheduled in-apartment service, new-device setup, and larger technology projects can be added separately.

Start with a 90-day pilot

A low-risk way to test resident demand and staff impact. Fixed cost. No long-term commitment.

2 hours on-site every other week for 90 days. Six scheduled visits, up to four resident appointments per visit, approximately 12 on-site hours.

Included

  • A recurring on-site Resident Technology Concierge session
  • 20-30 minute resident appointments managed by the community or a shared signup sheet
  • Help with phones, tablets, computers, printers, Wi-Fi, streaming, video calling, passwords, settings and general “how do I” questions
  • Basic scam and suspicious-message review
  • A brief visit summary: number of residents helped and common issue categories
  • One 30-minute “Scam Check” resident talk during the pilot
  • End-of-pilot review with recommendations for an ongoing schedule

Success measures

  • Resident participation and repeat use
  • Resident and staff satisfaction
  • Types of issues resolved
  • Estimated reduction in technology questions directed to staff

After 90 days

PADev and community leadership review usage and decide whether to stop, repeat, or move to a recurring monthly program. A typical ongoing program can be tailored from 2 to 8 on-site hours per month based on actual demand.

Scope and boundaries

Clear expectations protect residents, the community, and PADev.

Designed for

  • Everyday personal technology assistance and education
  • Resident-owned consumer devices and services
  • Clear, step-by-step guidance that helps the resident understand what was changed

When an issue needs more time

If a resident request cannot reasonably be completed during the appointment, PADev can explain next steps. With community approval, separate resident-paid or facility-paid work may be scheduled under a separate scope and price.

Not included

  • Medical devices or clinical systems
  • Community-owned business systems, network infrastructure, access-control or life-safety systems unless separately contracted
  • Banking transactions, investment activity, money transfers, tax preparation or legal advice
  • Taking custody of resident passwords, payment cards, PINs or authentication codes
  • Hardware repair requiring parts, data recovery, cabling or installation work beyond the scheduled clinic
